Clubhouse

CLUBHOUSE

Clubhouse is the app that pioneered the social audio format. As one of the earliest hires at Clubhouse, I helped form the core operations of the marketing team as it expanded. I worked across the media and creator partnerships team catering to the varied needs of these groups while being able to quickly disseminate new product features and updates to partners. After the marketing team was built out, I was tapped to help found and build the international team, working on strategy and partnerships for India and Japan. I worked with partners like Netflix, TIME Magazine, and L’Oreal on creative direction and production for their activations on the platform. Here is a selection of projects that I worked on while at Clubhouse.

MEDIA PARTNERSHIPS SHOWCASE

I worked closely with the Global Head of Media Partnerships, Fadia Kader, as her thought partner on building a presentation to introduce Clubhouse to her rolodex of media and brand partners globally. I helped write and design the contents, and helped source and coordinate the production team for a live broadcast of our presentation — as well as present a section myself. Our first iteration of this presentation had over a thousand attendees, and this presentation served as the foundation for all pitch decks between the media and creator partner teams for future presentations.

CREATOR FIRST PROGRAM

One of my biggest projects at Clubhouse was the design and implementation of our first creator accelerator program, called ‘Creator First’, in the Spring of 2020. This mentorship program was designed to find and mentor new talents on platform. We created the program from scratch on a tight time frame of four weeks from announce to implementation. We had over 5000+ applications for the US iteration of this program, and ended up with 20 programs to coach over a three month period.

Because of the success of the US program, I spearheaded the launch of the program in our key international markets as well: Brazil and India. This involved sourcing agencies and mentors in local markets to work on the shows with us.

APP LOCALIZATION

After I helped found the international team, we realized a key pain point for our international users was the lack of localization of the app. We had large user bases in Korea, Japan, Brazil and other countries where English was not widely spoken. I helped plan the app translation process with a colleague on the team, and was in charge of sourcing and coordinating translators for ten languages to kick-off our localization efforts, as well as coordinating the design of assets across these languages for a marketing push.
